Help getting your world up and running.

Short, plain-English guides for setting up and running your server. Can’t find an answer? Ask in our Discord — we’re quick.

Getting started

  1. 1. Create a server. Pick Java or Bedrock, give it a name, and choose US East or US West — whichever is closest to your group.
  2. 2. Share the address. Your server gets its own address. Send it to your friends and they can hop in right away.
  3. 3. Make it yours. Add plugins or a modpack, upload an existing world, and tweak the settings — all from the panel, no extra apps.
Create a server

Connecting friends

Everyone joins with the same address — no IP to copy, no port to remember. Your world’s always there: hand out the address and play. If a friend can’t connect, double-check they’re on a recent Minecraft version and using the exact address from your panel.

Java + Bedrock together

Create a Java server and turn on crossplay, and friends on phones, consoles and PC all join the same world with one address — no separate setup, no second address to hand out. Prefer a Bedrock-only world for a phones-and-consoles group? Pick Bedrock when you create the server.

Files & plugins

Edit any file right in the browser — no separate file program to install. Add plugins or a whole modpack from the built-in library in a click, or upload your own. Bringing a world from somewhere else? Upload it and it’s ready to play.

Teams & permissions

Invite a friend as a co-owner or give a helper just the permissions they need — start and stop the server, edit files, run commands — without ever sharing your login. Every change is recorded, so you always know who did what.

Backups & your world

Take a restore point any time and roll back with one click — and if the server ever crashes, it restarts itself. Your world is always yours: download a copy whenever you like. No lock-in.

Billing

You only pay for the hours you actually play. Each server has a small $2/month base fee that keeps your world saved and ready for whenever you come back, plus 1¢ per hour for each GB of RAM during the hours you play — and the first 100 GB·hours every month are free. The hours nobody’s playing don’t add anything beyond that base fee. Everything comes from credit you add up front, so there are no surprise charges. Beta accounts start with $20 free.

API, MCP & Discord

Tacyon is programmable. The panel is backed by a public REST API — create an API key in the portal and drive power, files, console and more over a single Bearer-authenticated endpoint, scoped by the same permissions as the dashboard. There’s also an MCP server so you can run your Minecraft server straight from Claude and other AI tools, and a Discord control bot for managing it from your community’s server. Full API and MCP reference is on the way — ask in Discord for early access.
